A rare gem in Livingston
This review is long overdue, but I couldn’t move forward with planning another trip without finally writing it. Our stay at this chalet in Livingston, Montana (September 2025) was, without exaggeration, one of the best travel experiences I’ve had in years. It set a standard that I now find myself comparing every future booking to—and honestly, nothing quite measures up. From the moment we walked in, the place felt magical. We were welcomed with soft music and warm, beautiful lighting that immediately made it feel special. The location itself struck the perfect balance—private and peaceful, yet not isolated. Every detail of the chalet felt intentional and thoughtfully designed. I remember being genuinely in awe of both the décor and the level of comfort. The amenities were exceptional: heated bathroom floors (which made a huge difference), an additional heater in the bathroom, and an adjustable mattress in the master bedroom that took comfort to another level. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and more, making it easy to settle in and truly enjoy the space. What made the experience even better was the host, David. He was incredibly responsive, helpful, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was perfect. That kind of hospitality is rare and made a lasting impression. Even now, as I plan my next trip, I realize how much this stay has spoiled me—in the best way. I keep looking for something comparable and haven’t found it yet. That alone says everything. We will absolutely be back.

From the jazz playing in the background to all the vintage pieces and antiques, everything seemed to create a cozy atmosphere. Since it was so cold outside, we enjoyed warming up next to the many fireplaces throughout the house. Excellent hosts! They were very responsive and made sure that we were okay during the winter storm that happened while we were there. We would definitely stay here again, even in the spring, summer, fall or even winter again!” Guest book entry: “It’s so intimidating to start the first page! But we couldn’t leave without leaving a note. What a beautiful home full of charm and character, which we got to enjoy during the first week of January. Our first impression will be a lasting memory—warm lights everywhere, jazzy tunes, and gorgeous evergreens, all dolled up in fluffy winter scarves and mittens. It was magical in every way possible. "The Chalet was a great stay! I highly recommend it!" Erin - Full Review from December 2024: “The chalet was such a great place to stay for a snowy winter break. It had so many games for us to play and crayons, colored pencils, and notebooks for our daughter. There were some snacks and a Brita water filter for us to use as well. There was also so much history in the house—it was so interesting to look through old books and artifacts from over a hundred years ago! The fireplace was so cozy to sit by. The hot tub was so nice for the family to sit in and look at the snowy background. We also saw a baby deer in the backyard! Also, just noting here, the two bedrooms in the house are on separate floors, in case you have little ones. I would also recommend getting food or groceries before you embark on your comfy stay at the chalet, as the food delivery services do not come to this location. David was our contact during our time there, and he was so great at communicating and helping us throughout our stay. He had great food recommendations as well! I highly recommend the Cozy Alpine Chalet!”
